The Value is in the Translation.
Why we are building the communication layer for the next generation of software teams.
"We built exactly what they asked for, but they say it's not what they wanted."
Software engineering is the closest thing to magic in the modern world. With a few thousand lines of code, we can move money, heal patients, or connect the globe.
But there is a fatal flaw in how we build. It isn't a technical flaw. It's a linguistic one.
The Tower of Babel
Your organization is speaking three different languages:
- Users speak in Symptoms."It's broken." "It's slow." "I'm frustrated." They lack the vocabulary to describe the root cause, so their feedback arrives as noise.
- Engineers speak in Systems."Latency spiked." "The API threw a 500." "We refactored the auth service." This is precise, but unintelligible to the business.
- The Business speaks in Value."Did we ship?" "Are users happy?" "What is the ROI?" They need outcomes, not output.
Between these three groups lies a chasm. Value falls into this chasm. Good ideas die here. Relationships sour here.
We exist to bridge this chasm.
Our Core Beliefs
1. Friction Destroys Truth
Every form field a user has to fill out reduces the chance they will tell you the truth. Every manual report an engineer has to write reduces the time they spend building.
We believe context must be captured automatically, or not at all.
2. Engineers Are Not Translators
Hiring brilliant engineers and making them spend 30% of their time translating technical jargon into business-speak is a waste of human potential.
We believe software should do the translation.
3. Context is Currency
A bug report without context is a guess. A status update without business mapping is just noise.
We believe that with the right context, any problem becomes solvable.
The Signal Labs Approach
We are building a suite of tools that act as the Translation Layer for your organization.
InContext
The Input Layer
We translate user pain (clicks, rage-clicks, confusion) into engineering reality (DOM state, logs, traces). We make the user heard without them saying a word.
Storyline
The Output Layer
We translate engineering effort (commits, PRs, merges) into business value (features, roadmap progress, ROI). We make the engineer understood without a meeting.
We are Signal Labs. We clear the noise. We amplify the signal.
